Bill Andrewes - Chairman

Bill was elected as Chair of Governors on September 27^th 2021 for the second time. He was Chair previously from 2008 until Caroline Palethorpe took over in 2018. Bill has been a Governor at Lindridge since 2006 and has been involved in education for over 50 years. He was a governor or trustee of both The Grey Coat School in Westminster - one of London’s leading secondary schools for girls – and of Queen Anne’s School, Caversham - an independent girl’s secondary school - for many years and became Chairman of the Trustees for the Grey Coat Hospital Foundation in 2002.

In his working life Bill was a Director and Divisional Chairman of the Granada Group. On taking over Bill thanked Caroline for the tremendous improvements made at the school during her time as Chair of Governors and stressed that he had agreed to become Chair again only to ensure a smooth handover to a younger person who would ensure that the school was reaching and maintaining its full potential.
