Welcome to Woodpecker Class Page
Summer Term 2020 Covid-19 update – Home learning
Parents, carers and guardians this is just to update you on the position regarding your child’s continued learning. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and school closures since March 2020, all home learning will be posted via the school’s Class Dojo portal.
In order to access your child’s home learning, your child will need to log in to Woodpecker class’s Class Dojo page as themselves (using their unique code which was sent through when school closed). From here, you, and they, will be able to access Woodpecker class’s class story and portfolios accordingly. This is where all home learning will be published.
I will add a range of learning activities, tasks and challenges, suitable for Year 2 children, to Woodpecker class’s Class Dojo Portfolio. Each week, there will be a reading activity with 1 or more topic tasks, activities and/or challenges. On a daily basis, pupils will also be provided with writing and maths tasks, activities and challenges.
Remember though, the priority is you and your families stay safe so completion of these is voluntary.
To submit responses and evidence of completion of home learning, please support your child to use the following method:
- After logging in to Class Dojo (as a pupil, using the unique log in code provided).
- After clicking on Woodpecker class.
- Click ‘create new’ or click on a specific portfolio item.
- At this point, you are able to upload photos, videos, recordings or typed responses.
I will provide feedback and acknowledgement to each upload to their portfolios.
Remember you can share all learning or activities your child has been up to during the Covid-19 lockdown, whether it is linked to a specific task or not. Any photos, videos or messages can all be uploaded to their portfolio 😊!
We are a class of 16 Year 2 pupils, which is taught by Mrs Harry. Mrs Adams is the Woodpeckers' teaching assistant.
PE is on Wednesday please ensure that they have a fully named, warm outdoor PE kit, as we will be going outside when possible.
Please make sure that the children have a labelled bottle of water in school every day.
Effective home school relationships are key to both your child’s success and progress so please do keep in touch. I too, will keep in regular communication with yourselves at home.
Please get in touch should you have any queries. You can contact me via Class Dojo messaging or on the email below and I will respond as soon as I am able to do so.
